CESAR

Twenty years have passed... Césariot is academically gifted and could be a valedictorian of theEcole Polytechnique. He has been raised at great expense by the generous Panisse, and sincerely believes that Panisse is his biological father. The weight of years means that Panisse, who is very old, is about to die. The parish priest demands that the truth be revealed to Césariot, but Panisse ensures that Césariot only learns the truth about his origins after his funeral.

Thus, the young man learns from Fanny, to his great surprise, that his progenitor is in fact Marius, the son of his own godfather César (who is also his grandfather). Wanting to find out who his biological father is, Césariot decides to meet him incognito. He poses as a journalist to glean information from his entourage in Toulon, where Marius owns a car garage. During a one-on-one fishing trip in the calanques, he discovers the man his father is, and his frankness leads him to become deeply attached to him. But Fernand, his business partner, sows doubt in his mind once again.

Taking advantage of Marius's professional visit to Marseille, Césariot decides to burst the bubble by organizing a family reunion in the presence of his mother Fanny and grandfather César. Following a poignant explanation, Césariot understands that his parents sacrificed their youth and love for him so that he could benefit from a quality education and material goods. The young adult also understands that his situation was known and accepted by his entire family and entourage.

With César's help, he works to ensure that Marius and Fanny reunite and live out their love, still intact after twenty years.
