Maja Wolna is a Polish illustrator, graphic designer and painter, born in 1980 in Poznań, Poland. She studied at the Poznań Arts High School before continuing her studies at the Poznań Academy of Fine Arts, where she obtained her Master's degree in engraving in 2005.
After completing her studies, Maja Wolna worked as an assistant in the academy's poster workshop and participated in numerous poster and illustration competitions in Poland and abroad. She is affiliated with the Fritz Siebiert Art Gallery in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, and has exhibited her posters at the Arsenal Gallery in Poznań. In the fall of 2003, she was an artist-in-residence at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, USA.
In 2010, she obtained her doctorate, followed by her habilitation in 2014. She currently teaches as a professor at the Poznań University of Arts. In addition to her work in Poznań, she also teaches at two academic institutions in Warsaw: the WSFoto Academy and ViaModa.
Her artistic work encompasses poster design, painting, engraving, and illustration. She also designs clothing and sings occasionally.
