AUDREY HEPBURN IN NEW YORK - Dennis Stock

Dennis Stock (1928-2010) was a renowned American photographer, best known for his iconic portraits of film and music stars. A member of the Magnum Photos agency, he captured landmark images of the 1950s and 1960s, including James Dean, Marlon Brando, Audrey Hepburn, Miles Davis and Ray Charles.

His most famous work remains his series of photos of James Dean in New York and Indiana, including the iconic shot of the actor walking in the rain in Times Square in 1955.

Dennis Stock has photographed Audrey Hepburn on many occasions, particularly in more intimate, off-set moments. He captured her natural elegance and timeless aura, helping to reinforce her iconic image. Although they didn't have a strong personal bond, his shots of her remain among the finest portraits of the actress, showcasing her understated charm and legendary grace.

Audrey Hepburn (1929-1993) was a British actress and one of the most iconic figures in Hollywood cinema. She made her name with Roman Holiday (1953), for which she won an Oscar, followed by legendary roles in Sabrina (1954),Breakfast at Tiffany's (1961) and My Fair Lady (1964). Her natural elegance, charisma and talent made her a star to be reckoned with.

She also became a fashion icon thanks to her collaboration with couturier Hubert de Givenchy, who shaped her sophisticated style. Away from the cinema, Audrey Hepburn devoted herself to humanitarian causes as a UNICEF ambassador, devoting the last years of her life to helping underprivileged children.

Her impact endures today thanks to her image of grace, sophistication and commitment, making her a timeless figure of cinema and culture.
